Rocket Distribution for Rocket Day

Posted on Aug 1 2018 - 10:43pm

Dear Cub Scout Parents,

We will have Rocket distribution for Rocket Day on August 13, 2018 from 6pm-8pm.  You can pick up your rockets at Sunny Lake at the Boathouse. The Boathouse is located at the first entrance on the Mennonite road side of the Lake.  DeAnna Baker, Rich Morris and myself (Phil Sumen) will be there to hand out the rockets.  We are asking for a $5.00 donation from each Scout that picks up a rocket.  You are not required to donate, but this money does go towards our pack.  If siblings or adults want a rocket, the cost will be $5.00 per rocket.  If you cannot make it during that time, please email me (psumenjr@gmail.com).  We can make arrangements and get you the rocket(s) for Rocket Day.

Dear Parents

Danielle and I received the Popcorn Sheets for the packs annual Popcorn Sale. I know there are a few scouts out there that like to get an early start on their popcorn sales, especially when we have a competing Scout group in Aurora. Please email me at (psumenjr@gmail.com), and I will personally drop off the sheets to you. I can put them in your mailbox if you want. We are asking for all scouts to sell popcorn this year. Usaully only half of the scouts sell popcorn and we would like to increase that. Door to Door sales is the best way to sell popcorn. We will be selling at the Big Ticket stores, but most of the money is made from Door to Door sales. There are prizes awarded that the scout can pick out, depending on how much popcorn they sell. This past season we enjoyed doing Fall Camp, Bowling and Put n Bay (spring trip). This is mostly due to selling popcorn and using that money for nice trips like those mentioned. Its all up to the Scouts and the parents to help volunteer their time in helping out the Pack so we can have fun things to do throughout the year.

Cub Scout float

Posted on Jun 25 2018 - 7:32pm

Good evening Pack!
I'm bummed I can't be in two places at once but I love the pictures from the Memorial Day Parade. Thank you to all who were able to make it to honor that day!
Our pack will be doing a simple float this year and we will be meeting on July 1st at Deanna Baker's house to put it together. Her address 470 N. Chilicothe Rd (Rt. 306) in Aurora. The theme will be a campsite :)! Deanna has offered the use of her trailer and Phil the use of his truck to pull it. The overall plan is for 2 older boys to be on the truck facing outward pretending to fish (no hooks obviously, haha) and the trailer behind with a "campsite" setup complete with a puptent and a campsite. So far this is what we have signed up to help.
If you have any additional ideas (be creative!) or want to come just to help set it up please let me know!
Trailer - Deanna B
Truck - Phil S
Fake fire/firewood with red streamer- Rich M
Streamers for trailer - Deanna B
Pup tent - Andy L
Two Fishing poles - Jackie D
Two folding chairs - Rich M
***Does anyone have a portable fan that can be put in the log-cabin style "fire" to help the streamers blow upward?***
Any other ideas??
***ALSO...if each Scout that is marching could come with some candy to throw it would be much appreciated. Remember also to remind them to spread it out as they may get excited throwing at the beginning and may run out by the end. Thanks!***
Thanks and look forward to seeing you there!

Dear Cub Scout Parents,

Next Tuesday and Wednesday(May 1&2, 2018), Pack 3269 & 3265 are having a spring recruitment.  We are looking for volunteers to help for the recruitment.  The times for the recruitment are from 6pm-8pm.  You dont have to stay the for the full two hours, but any kind of help would be grateful.  Also, we are looking for some of our Scouts to come in full uniform to help out with the recruitment.  The Scouts can talk to potential Scouts and explain the great things we do. We will also be doing fun things with the potential scouts and parents.  Please email me at psumenjr@gmail.com if you can help out.  Thank you again and have a great day.
